at Billfans.com, you must read these terms and conditions carefully. They
can be viewed here at any time, and are handy to read. These are general terms, reguarding
making posts, and general use of the discussion board. It is vital that
all members read this before making a first post. It is vital that any new threads started
here go in the correct place.

Which forum should I
post in?
Terms of Registration
Selecting a username:
All usernames must be kept appropriate.
Your username does not have to reflect a certain character/part of
The Bill, however the majority of our members have done so (see
the member list for further details). The administrator will ban
any user accounts that are represented by a rude or inappropriate
username.
Giving your email
address: The email address you
provide us with during registration MUST be real, as we will
use this from time to time to let you know about special events
and news reguarding The Bill. Your email address is
also used to re-send your password, should you forget it.
Your
password: We always ask our users to
sign-up with an obscure password, using a mixture of characters
and digits (for example 'house' is easier for another person
to guess, however 'h0uSe' is more secure). Should somebody else get
hold of your password, you will be responsible for your own account.
Should this occur, the administrator will always be happy to look into
the matter and change your password for you, but please remember that
the safety of your forum account is your own
responsibility.
Avatar
settings: Our discussion board
allows our users to select an avatar, or 'personal image'. This will be
displayed at the side of each post the user makes, as well as in their
profile. All avatars are automatically re-sized, however some may be too
large. Avatar's containing anything inappropriate will be removed,
and further action may be taken
Signature:
This is the small piece of personal text
that is displayed under each post you make. Again, anything
inappropriate should be left out. Large signatures are not welcome
here, nor are large images. They can easily mess up the layout of
the forums.
Other Info:
Any information you give in your profile will be
kept safe, unless you choose to display. For more information, please
see our privacy policy. Most of the information asked for in the profile
is not required, however you understand that anything you do fill in
will be accessable for other users (EXCLUDING sign-up information, and
your email address if you wish to hide it).
Use Of Forums
Making a post:
Once you have obtained the password for
your forum account, you can login and start posting. You MUST place all
new threads in the correct place (see 'where to post' below). Whilst we
always try to keep things in order, it is not always possible to
moderate the forums 24/7, which is why we ask for our users to be
responsible for their posts, and make sure they follow the simple rules,
displayed on this page.
Profanity:
We DO NOT allow users to use bad language
on the forums, all posts containing swearing will be edited by one of
our moderators. If you spot a post which containts anything offensive or
nasty, please use the link to report the post. Light swearing, for
sentences such as 'Bloody Boyden' are allowed to a certain
extent.
Spam: With a community as large as billfans.com, we have to act
upon the best interests of the users, which is why all spamming will be
deleted. Any posts that are not significant must go in 'The Trashcan'
forum, where spam is allowed for things like signatures and such. In the
past, we have had a small number of trouble-makers, who have tried to
ruin the enjoyment of the forums for the large majority, who do not
cause trouble. If at any time, another user spams your IM (instant
message) inbox with ANY messages which you do not want, please email the
Administrator, who will check logs of IM's and see what can be
done.
Spoilers: ALL
messages containing spoilers must be posted in the correct place. For
example, if you wish to inform users about a forthcoming UK storyline,
post the thread in the special 'spoilers' forum. If your message
contains very light spoilers, please show this by adding
'[Spoilers]' to the thread title. Please remember that our forum is made
up of users from places such as Austrailia and New
Zealand, where The Bill is shown a few months behind the
UK episodes.
We also reserve the right to act upon
a case-by-case basis if these rules are not followed, however this will
only happen in extreme cases where rules are broken.
Which forum to post in?
General
Discussion: This is used for
general threads reguarding The Bill, however NO spoilers are allowed
here. Even if they are not spoilers to you, they will be for anybody in
Austrailia who are months behind the UK! Use General Discussion for
things such as 'Alex Cullen releases book', or 'I met the cast today'
etc.
UK Episodes:
This forum is for the discussion of UK
episodes. Users from Austrailia and New Zealand can expect to find lots
of spoilers. Please do not post spoilers anywhere else from this
forum. This does not mean that UK users can post threads about
forthcoming UK storylines, only present ones.
Australian
Episodes: Users in Austrailia can
discuss their episodes here. No spoilers from UK fans here
please.
UKTV Gold
Episodes: Use this board for
discussions about the classic episodes on UKTV Gold (uk). Overseas users
may or may not be ahead of the UKTV episodes, depending on which
episodes are showing at the time.
New Zealand Episodes:
Users in New Zealand can discuss
their episodes here. No spoilers from UK fans here please.
Spoilers: The ideal place
to let other members know about forthcoming UK storylines. A thread
however such as 'Des Taviner dies'! is not acceptable,
please keep all spoiler material inside the
thread.
UKTV Gold
Episodes: Use this board for
discussions about the classic episodes on UKTV Gold (uk). Overseas users
may or may not be ahead of the UKTV episodes, depending on which
episodes are showing at the time.
Poll Zone:
You must only use this forum to start polls (forum
polls). If you intend to merely ask a question, please to go

Q&A
Material: This is your chance to ask
anything about The Bill, such as 'where is the bill filmed', or 'how
many times a week is the show filmed?'.
Desperately
Seeking: If there's a specific
episode of The Bill or fan item you are looking for, post your request
here and another member may be able to help you out by sending it to
you. No financial gain may be made here. Any threads 'selling' items
will be removed. For example, if a taped episode is being sent to
another member, they must only cover the cost of postage and packaging,
and of course the tape/DVD/etc.
Fanfiction:
Write your own The Bill fiction or stories here. If
your post is going to contain spoilers that apply to ANY country, please
state this in the TITLE.
