It brings us great sadness to
announce that Graham Cole has been axed from The
Bill.
The producers of the programme have decided that,
given the new 9pm slot which begins later in the year,
realistic police characters such as Graham's character
'PC Tony Stamp' will have no place in the show once the
new grittier image is launched.
Graham has been a part of the show for 22 years and
admitted to feeling "disappointed and disregarded" after
being given the shocking news. In a leaked email to fan
site Stampers, 57-year-old Cole said: "How do I tell you
this? The management have decided PC Tony Stamp will not
be a part of the new nine o'clock show".

We at Billfans.com were shocked to hear this news.
This appears to be our final indication that, despite
having improved since Paul Marquess was in charge, The
Bill will never return to being anything
like the realistic police drama,
with interesting characters and
storylines, that made it a success for many
years.
